More Atlanta appointments

Mackie has 2 specialist appointments tomorrow in Atlanta. Earliest one would have meant we had to leave enterprise at 5 am so we drove to Atlanta tonight and got a hotel - with the dogs and 3 kids leaving that early can mean a few years off my life expectancy lol. Unfortunately, the max occupancy for the Ronald McDonald house here in Atlanta is 4 - 1 less then our fam of 5. So, we got a last minute deal on an extended stay place with a loft which the kids think is fun . I packed his giant binder with a lot of his medical records as we are seeing a new endocrinologist. I’m praying this one is willing to put in the time to get to know Mac and his hundreds of lab results - hoping we can find some reason he is growing so slowly. (This will be the 3rd? No, 4th endocrinologist we’ve seen.) And we also are getting his pacemaker checked and lots of labs done. I feel prepared for a day of appointments with a new box of legos, a big bag of snacks and drinks, a bag of art supplies and a new Disney car. Thank you April for keeping our canine babies while we are out of town and thank you Natascha for checking on the kitty cats. Image may contain: 1 person, smiling

Ice Skating is so fun

We got to do something super fun after the appointment today. Skating at Atlantic Station. Mac wanted to go full tilt but his feet weren’t keeping up with his ambition so we rented a little push thing and took turns pushing him around the rink. The lengths we go for this little guy lol. But we all had a great time - our feet hurt from skating but our faces hurt from smiling and that’s a good day.

Atlanta appointment

Appointment today. Met the new nephrologist. No bloodwork or anything this time. We have to come back in 2 weeks for endo and cardiology so we will just do the bloodwork then. Waiting for some paperwork then we are headed to the IceRink!!!! Super excited

Happy New Year!

What a year! At the beginning of 2019 Macsen was doing so badly, we were traveling to Birmingham every 3 weeks and he was getting worse and worse. His kidneys were also starting to shut down. We traveled to Boston 4 times, had a cath, bone scans, kidney and liver scans, and countless blood draws. Mac got turned down for transplant - even though all the docs kept telling us it was his only hope- but by the grace of God, and the right team, he is still with us. And today he lost a tooth lol! Happy New Years everyone!!! Mac ushered in the new year with friends and family❤️
